I think this is a great deal for someone looking for that late 80’s pre-grunge sound. The Legendary NS-2™ Bass Introduced in 1979, it has become the standard for what a Professional P/J Bass should be. The case has a few dings and marks on it, but what case doesn’t? Local pickup in the Chicago Area only at this point. It comes with the original Spector branded case. I did find a scratch in the plastic cover plate on the back. It has that contour body and neck-thru construction. Depending on where you live in the country you may want to add or reduce the neck relief when it acclimates to your location. I found no fret buzz anywhere before I packed it up. The strings are newer (as I have barely played them) and are probably less than a year old. So thats why my love of these instruments is still so strong today- theyre great, quality American basses and Im sure there are thousands of other bassists. It has been played, but I remember only taking it to only one or two gigs.

18v volts made the system much subtler and seems to give the mid control more dynamic range. The controls are as follows: Volume - Volume – Tone – Variable Mid Control. The stock pickups and electronics (Spector branded) are nowhere to be found. The pickups were changed out a while ago to EMG. I would like to say the word “mint” but that would not be correct. These are pretty rare to find, and even more rare in this state. Why? Because I am a Fender user and I suppose I am cursed to always be one. I honestly forgot about it for a year or two. The Original NS-Body Design - This design was created for Spector. I know what your thinking…How did this 1987 NS2-A Kramer-era survive the past 34 years? Answer: Largely in its case, detuned, wrapped in muslin and stored in a non-smoking, climate-controlled environment. These basses are powered by ACTIVE EMG Pickups and our Spector USA 9-volt Tone Circuit.
